Conditions of Entry / Eligibility

 

Please read the conditions of entry below before making your entry.

1. Instructions on how to enter and win the 2008 Citipower Port Phillip Business Excellence Awards form part of the conditions of entry. Entry into the Awards is deemed acceptance of these conditions of entry.

2. Business must be located within the municipal boundaries of the City of Port Phillip. Postcodes covered by Port Phillip include: 3004, 3205, 3206, 3207, 3182, 3183, 3184 & 3185.

3. Business must have been trading with the same owners for a minimum of 24 months as at 1 August 2008.

4. Person entering the awards must be the authorised representative for the company.

5. All information submitted must be true and correct as at 1 August 2008.

6. All business category winners are eligible for the Overall Business of the Year Award. No additional entry material is required for this Award.

7. Companies must be more than 60% Australian owned with owner(s) making the key management decisions.

8. Your business will NOT be eligible to enter if it is

  • A publicly listed company
  • Majority government funded or a Government Agency
  • A partner of the Citipower Port Phillip Business Excellence Awards 2008
  • Currently involved in any dispute with the City of Port Phillip

The City of Port Phillip reserves the right to declare any entry ineligible if, in the reasonable opinion of The City of Port Phillip the entrant is unable to represent or promote the Awards in a satisfactory manner.

9. The decision made by the Judging Panel is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

10. The City of Port Phillip accepts no responsibility for entry submissions not received by the final date.

11. The City of Port Phillip reserves the right to refuse listings in the Excellent Business guide if in the reasonable opinion of the City of Port Phillip the entrant is unable to represent or promote the Guide in a satisfactory manner.

12. Finalists and Winners will be judged by a Panel. Decisions will be based on the following criteria:

  • Responses to questions within the Application Form
  • Interview of finalists for each category.
  • An announced site visit to your business for finalists in each category if deemed appropriate by the judges.

13. Judging Panel:

  • Is an independent panel of representatives from local and state government, community groups and leading local business.Will be selected by the City of Port Phillip based on abilities and expertise.
  • Will sign and return a confidentiality agreement before being able to participate in the judging process and their associated companies are unable to enter the awards.
  • Reserves the right to nominate your business for other categories if necessary.
