When do nominations close?

Nominations close Friday 25 July 2008

Completed Application forms due in by 5pm Friday 1 August 2008.

Entries must be sent via post. You should have your entry in the mail by Wednesday 30 July to ensure it arrives by Friday 1 August

Can I nominate myself?

We encourage you to nominate your business. Check to see that your business is eligible.

Can I enter in multiple categories?

Yes, your business can enter into one or more award categories.

I entered last year – am I eligible this year?

Yes. All businesses, except the past overall winner, are eligible to enter. This includes businesses that entered previous Port Phillip Business Awards including award category finalists and winners.

Why should my business enter these awards?

Apart from the personal recognition of your success, it provides you and your business with an excellent marketing tool. It motivates your staff and confirms to your current customers that you are a leading business.

Can I get assistance in completing my application form?

A free information session will be held on Wednesday 18 June at 6pm - 7.30pm in Council Chambers at St Kilda Town Hall.

Who judges the winners?

An independent panel of representatives from local and state government, a community group and leading business assist with the judging of the 2008 award winners.

Is there a SAMPLE completed application form?

A sample application form has been completed to assist you with your entry and is provided in the application kit sent to all nominees.

How long will it take to complete the application?

It should take you an hour or two to complete the application form. The application form has been streamlined this year and no more than 1,500 words are required. All entries must be typed and bullet point answers are acceptable.

Will I be asked for financial information regarding my business?

Only basic financial information is required for the application form. More detailed information will be asked of finalists at the time of their interview, if required.

All financial information supplied will be held in the strictest confidence and cannot be divulged or used for any other purpose.

Who is eligible for the awards?

All businesses in the City of Port Phillip are eligible to enter the 2008 awards except past "overall" winners.

How will I know if I am a finalist?

Finalists will be contacted in August 2008 and asked to attend a 20 minute interview at City of Port Phillip council offices. A site visit may also be conducted.
